We believe that the Holy Bible (collection of sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation) is the true word of God, written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit. It holds truth without any admixture of error for its matter, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man; it is the true center of Christian union and supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried.
We believe that there is only one true God, an infinite intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; holy and worthy of all possible honor; in unity of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature. He was active in the creation and He restrains the Evil One until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin, of judgement and of righteousness. He is the agent of the New Birth; He seals, baptizes, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.
We believe that Satan is the enemy of God and His Christ; the author of all powers of darkness. He will receive eternal punishment in hell.
We believe that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness…not from a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species…and that all animal and vegetable life was made directly from God.
We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of God, but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and happy state. As a result, all of mankind are now sinners by choice, without defense or excuse.
We believe that Jesus Christ though He existed in eternity past, took upon Himself a natural body, through a supernatural process was born of the virgin Mary. He is both the Son of God, and God of Son.
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God, who freely took upon Himself, yet without sin, honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins. His atonement was the voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner’s place; having risen from the dead, He is now instated in heaven. His righteousness is imputed to the account of all those who trust Him as their personal Savior.
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again. Those who are born again receive eternal life as a free gift from God. The new creation is brought about in a manner beyond human comprehension, through the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth.
We believe that in God’s grace, the blessings of salvation are made free to all through the gospel. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but their own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel.
Our church holds to two ordinances, the act of baptism and the ordinance of The Lord’s Supper.
Baptism by immersion is a prerequisite to membership in our local church. Water baptism is that service where the believer is submerged under water as an identification with the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial service where elements of bread and wine remind us of our Savior’s body that was broken on the Cross and His blood shed for our salvation. It is also a ministry of anticipation of our Savior’s promised return. This service is always preceded by solemn self-examination of our love for our Savior, our love for one another and the conduct of our lives.
